The Dutch language could get some adjustments to make the language easier to understand based on the Flesch–Kincaid readability formula, which measures the comprehensibility of written text. The DeGeorgia font is designed to make Dutch easier, without losing the meaning of words and context. The prepositions 'de' and 'het' for example, both mean 'the' in Dutch. The text on the poster is taken from a news article saying most medical information folders provided to children are more difficult to read than the information provided to adults. According to the Flesch–Kincaid readability formula the original text of the news article is easy to understand for nineteen to twenty year olds. Using the DeGeorgia font, the same text should be easily understood by thirteen to fourteen year olds.
The full DeGeorgia font can be used in Adobe Indesign as a script. A stripped down version (with fewer adjustments) is also available as the DeGeorgia font.
